Life has always been a journey of constant change for me — full of twists, turns, and new beginnings. But through it all, one thing has always remained constant: my love for art.
At the age of 49, I took a leap and went back to school to become a certified dog groomer and canine massage therapist. It was a big step, but one that felt incredibly right. Now, just a year later, I’m beyond proud to be opening the doors to my very first salon — at 50!
This little space is more than just a grooming salon; it’s a labor of love. I painted my own business sign, designed the leaflets and business cards, assembled most of the furniture by hand, painted some walls, hung up fur wallpaper, and even tackled some plumbing along the way! Every brush stroke and bolt tightened was another step toward creating something truly personal and meaningful.
I’m also committed to making grooming accessible and supportive for everyone in the community. I’ll be offering welfare grooms for those on benefits, as well as free sessions for dog parents who want to learn how to brush and care for their dogs between appointments — because a little knowledge goes a long way in keeping our furry friends healthy and happy.
I can’t wait to welcome dogs (and their lovely owners!) into this space that I’ve poured my heart into. Thank you to Orpington for being the place where this dream found a home — I’m so excited to be part of this wonderful community.
Here’s to new beginnings, wagging tails, and the courage to keep creating, no matter what chapter of life we’re in!
